China Trip - Elephant Trunk Hill, the Landmark of Guilin

Guilin Sapphire Hotel does not provide breakfast service for the guests. Therefore, we asked the hotel receptionist on the recommendation for breakfast and we were directed to a small shops nearby the hotel selling Guilin specialty food.

Guilin Mifen. Or Guilin's Vermicelli.

It comes in soup or dry version. This is the dry one.
We just ate by the porch of the shop

At 9:00 am, our tour guide in Guilin picked us up. His name is Jack Zhou and he has been in the business for about 9 years. So, we were at the right hands.

Our first itinerary was to visit the landmark of Guilin, Elephant Trunk Hill.

Elephant Trunk Hill is the symbol of Guilin. The shape of the hill resembles an elephant drinking water from the Li River. The cave below the hill is called Water Moon Cave due to its ability in reflecting moonlight at night. The moonlight can be seen through the arch and it looks like a moon floating on the water.

The entrance to Xiangbi Shan. The ticket price is RMB 75 (~SGD 16.5) per pax.
Jack led the way inside
It's possible to climb the hill to see the beautiful river from the top
But we opted for Water Moon Cave instead
We then walked back and passed by this serene river
To view the famous Elephant Trunk Hill at the opposite side of the river

We took quite a number of photos before bid farewell to the huge elephant. Bye bye!

Love is in the air,
Little Feet

Next Post - Moving to the Past (Daxu Ancient Town) and to the Water (Li River)
